Who we are

Icentials is a creative, unconventional agency, established by Marc Cornelissen and Michel Schuurman. We work, with both feet on the ground, on one of the most important and challenging assignments of our time; increasing the sustainability of our society.

In this, we emphasise sustainability not as a classic environmental issue, but as a social assignment, in which the challenges in the area of climate and energy have our primary attention.

We do this not only because we know very well what is at stake, but also primarily because we realise that there are a great many opportunities for those who want to work on creating quality which has a future. Because in our opinion that is what increasing sustainability is all about: taking opportunities and realising future-proof quality and value. And we are happy that our services make a contribution to this.

With more than ten years of experience of expeditions and research projects in the polar region, we have seen with our own eyes what influence we have on this rugged yet vulnerable region. Like no other place on Earth, the pole shows us the necessity of renewal and innovation in our society. This is a difficult and challenging assignment, in which everyone has their own opportunities and possibilities.

At the same time, it is also precisely on the icy polar steppes that we have learned to bring difficult and challenging assignments to a good conclusion. This world of ice has given us inspiration and fundamental insights with which we can help you to make a contribution to a more sustainable society. With this unique background and experience in this area, we are able to work in an effective and no-nonsense manner.
