icentials at several events Beat the Heat Now

As part of the global day of action on climate change the Dutch 'Beat the Heat Now' event on December 12th was focussed on a strong climate agreement in Copenhagen. Activities were organized in a number of cities and at the end of the day the final event was held in Utrecht. Several organizations asked icentials to play a role.

Around noon Marc was host in Rotterdam where amongst others Rik Grashoff from the mayor's office and Wiert-Jan de Raaff, program director of Rotterdam Climate Initiative, received a number of petitions and the first solarpanel of the hundreds that Prorail will build on top of the new Central trainstation.

Next to that Marc was spokesman for the joined NGO community that organized Beat the Heat Now. He gave a number of interviews including Goedemorgen Nederland (breakfast show) which you can find here and Radio 2, which you can here.

Michel was host of three Masterclasses in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, organized by the Utrecht University. Three professors gave their vision on a sustainable city, sustainable mobility and renewable energie. The UU has started Ukracht together with the city and state of Utrecht, a coalition to enhance the regions position on sustainability. At the end Michel conveyed the conclusions and opinions of the people present to the city mayor, Deputy of State and the chair of the UU in front of the gathered media.

At the end of the day Marc joined a large group of politicians, business leaders and scientists on board the "Kopenhagen Express", a specially chartered train that headed to Copenhagen.
