Noordpool.FM

After Marc talked about the rapid changes in the North Pole region during a DJ Michiel Veenstra show, the 3FM radio DJ was inspired to transform a smouldering ambition into reality. Michiel wants to draw attention to the changing climate himself and inspire his audience to take responsibility.

In close cooperation with the Ministry of the Environment, the NPS and the HIER campaign, an exceptional initiative was born in a very short period of time: Noordpool.FM. We offered Michiel the opportunity to be the first DJ ever to broadcast live from the North Pole, if he managed to persuade more than 10,000 listeners to implement energy-saving measures - a figure which was easily surpassed.

After the completion of the project, 3FM/NPS carried out a study. What did it reveal? Noordpool.FM is one of the most successful campaigns through which young people have become demonstrably more aware, and have also demonstrated actual behavioural change.
