CO2005

In December 2005, we organised a climate conference for young people, in cooperation with Essent and Ben & Jerry's, in the Rotterdam nightclub Calypso: CO2005. Never before was the theme of climate change presented to young people in such an attractive manner.

With a combination of inspiring speakers such as Ruud Lubbers and Minister Pieter van Geel, appealing workshops presented by the likes of Lucy Siegle and a lot of fun provided by a good DJ and a Brazilian band, we were able to make the themes of climate change and sustainability accessible to a broad group of young people.

The interaction and participation of the participants was extremely high, and resulted in many good reactions on the part of the speakers present. The conference was visited by hundreds of young people from around the country, and their feedback was unanimously positive. The diverse nature of the day and the accessible level of the speakers were appreciated.
